This scholarship is intended for students who reside in Niagara & Erie counties who are studying nursing. Western Chapter New York Water Environment Association

The Western Chapter New York Water Environment Association was founded in 1929 by professionals in the field of water quality as a non-profit, educational organization. In order to be considered for this scholarship, a student must A) be enrolled in an environmental related curriculum at the undergraduate level ( such as, but not limited to, biology, forestry, chemistry, engineering, and water/waste water treatment. B) academic, extracurricular and community activities, references and personal goals. C) Student must be enrolled as a high school senior, and must reside in the geographic area.

The Zeta Phi Tradesman Scholarship

The Zeta Phi Fraternity believes in supporting Kenmore West students in the continuation of their education and advance learning to create new opportunities. With the shortage of skilled trade workers in Western New York, we want to help revitalize these career paths and support students in their professional pursuits. To be eligible a student must A) Be a Kenmore West Senior B) Must have been enrolled in a trade of technical program. C) Must plan to enroll in an accredited 2 or 4 year college, technical school or other accredited technical institute in the next 12 months.

The American Legion family

This scholarship is intended to assist 8th District New York State Veterans, their families, and patriotic students who share the ideals of the American Legion. The scholarship will be awarded based on veteran status (including family members), financial need, scholastic ability, realistic goals, extra-curricular activities and community involvement. All students must show proof that they have been accepted at an accredited college or university prior to receiving the scholarship. Requirements A) Submit a copy of your college/university letter of acceptance with the scholarship application. The American Legion-Erie County Committee

Students who have participated in sports, music, community, volunteering, or any other extra curricular activities are encouraged to apply. Approximately 4 awards will be given out on June 1, 2024 that the recipient must be present for. For more information, and an application, please stop down in the counseling office.


Joseph V. Morog Scholarship of kenmore west high school


Deadline: May 15, 2024

Joe Morog was born in the Town of Tonawanda and attended and graduated from Kenmore High School in 1947. After high school he then went on to pursue his education in Architecture at North Carolina University. From there, he accepted a position with Milton Small Architect. He then had bigger plans, and became a resident architect for the new Julliard School of Music in NYC. He then went on and continued to be extremely successful and continued to work on major architectural projects throughout his career, including the Long Wharf Marriott Hotel, Greenhouse Apartments, Vancouver Public Library, Toronto Opera House, and so much more!

After his retirement he continued as a consultant on other several important projects.

Sadly, Joe Morog passed away in 1999. He had a passion for teaching and inspiring young architects to perfect the craft of the profession. The Joseph V. Morog Scholarship Fund hopes to assist aspiring architects to achieve their goals. Please stop at the counseling office to pick up an application!


Erie County Fire District Officers Scholarships

Deadline: May 17, 2024​

This scholarship is for seniors who have exemplified community involvement in the County of Erie. Preference will be given to students who assist in the emergency services, and are matriculating in the Emergency Services Fields of Fire or EMS. To be eligible: Provide a grade transcript verifying a “C” average throughout high school. Show evidence of acceptance into a two or four-year college program. Be a resident of an area served by a Volunteer Fire Company. Applications with full details are available in the counseling office.


Randal W. Strong Vocational Scholarship

Deadline: May 10, 2024

Randy Strong was a 1998 Kenmore West Graduate who also attended the Boces program for building trades while in high school. This scholarship in his memory is to promote a young person’s entry into a vocational career in Building Trades, Welding, or Automotive. The application and the teacher letter form are available in the counseling office.


Junior Achievment of Western New York

To qualify for this scholarship opportunity a student must of participated in Junior Achievement event of experience during their high school career. High School students who reside in Erie or Niagara Counties anticipate acceptance in an A.B.E.T certified engineering or technology program at WNY ​institutions of higher learning. Recipients must be matriculated in the fall semester following graduation from high school. The award is based on scholastic ​record, financial need, extracurricular activities, and leadership potential. A few applications are available in the counseling office


Ongoing Scholarship Opportunities

Applicants must be residents of New York State for 12 continuous months before the beginning of the term, and be U.S. ​citizens. Students must be pursuing an undergraduate degree at a SUNY or CUNY college, including community colleges and ​the statutory colleges at Cornell University and Alfred University. Please note that the COVID -19 pandemic has dramatically ​reduced state revenues and the processing of new applications is pending on Federal assistance. Excelsior Scholarship awards ​may have to be reduced and/or prioritized under the program. The Excelsior Scholarship application period for the 2024-25 ​academic year will open in late spring /early summer of 2024, pending approval of the New York State 2024-25 enacted ​budget.
